By Jan Langley A Look Inside the Book
" . I felt goose bumps chase each other across my arms and legs. They were getting to be old friends. I looked at Marilyn. She was standing up at attention, beads of perspiration formed on her forehead. And then, again, cigar smoke permeated the air. Marilyn started to shake all over. I reached for her and grabbed her hand. A frigid wall of air circled us. My spine was ice and chills covered my hands and legs. Suddenly, the cigar smoke was gone. So was the coldness and Marilyn was herself again. "What was that all about? What happened to you?" I questioned."
From "Seul Choix Point Lighthouse" "They embalmed the Captain here," she whispered as she pushed the flashlight beam over the massive stone sinks we were passing. "What do you mean embalmed him?" I asked. "They drained his blood from him and filled his body with salt then they carried his body up these cellar steps to the casket and the wagon that waited outside."

as I
reached the second floor landing, I noticed the
bedroom door at the top of the stairs was ajar and
it felt like a cold wind was coming from it. I
leaned in to see if a window was open. Instead,
there was a woman, who was dressed in a fashion
reminiscent of the earl 1900's, sitting in the
rocking chair by the window reading a book. I
slammed the door closed and ran
